For rental assistance for low income families there is the Rhinelander Housing Authority for Rhinelander residents at 365-7979. And for other residents in Oneida, Vilas and Forest Counties there is Newcap at 1-800-242-7334.
EXTRA HELP
Residency rule. We require a family to be residents of Oneida or Vilas county and have resided here for one year.
Debt: Your monthly debt payment should not be more than 40% of your total monthly income. This debt includes your projected house payments (estimated Habitat monthly house is $360 which includes taxes and insurance). It also includes any monthly payments you make for all loans, credit cards, or overdue utilities. A year must have passed if you have a final decree of bankruptcy.
Marital status. If you are separated but not divorced, Wisconsin marital property laws prevent us from issuing a clear home title to other than a single person, marital partners, or two single individuals.
Court or civil judgements against you. These must be settled before we can issue a mortgage at the time of the home completion.

To find your minimum and maximum income numbers, use the number of people in your family residing with you full time and see if your income comes between the minimum and maximum numbers.
Your income should include all earned income, regular child support received, SSI for any family member, and other government payments such as food stamps , social security or family assistance.
