Habitat For Humanity Northwoods Wisconsin

The Family Support Committee creates a positive partnership with families in the program. Each has a "family partner" who serves as the family's liaison with Habitat for Humanity Northwoods Wisconsin, providing a support system that helps to guarantee success.

Committee members ensure that selected applicants understand Habitat's methods and expectations. Through regular contact with partner families, they ensure that each is progressing well through their partnership process. Family partners help schedule and record the "sweat equity" of their partner family. The committee also provides partner families with information on community organizations that offer training in such topics as credit counseling, home maintenance and repair, energy conservation, etc.

The Family Support Committee meets to review each family's progress in the program, identify problems and work together to determine solutions. Each committee meeting is a celebration of the progress made by our families toward their goals. Additionally, members are out at the construction site assisting the partner family with the completion of their sweat equity requirement and working in conjunction with the volunteers to complete the home.
