The Habitat ReStore accepts new and used building-related materials from contractors, individuals, remodelers and property managers. If you have items to donate please e-mail the E-ReStore at e-restore@habitatforhumanitynorthwoods.com with a description of your materials and your contact information.
Donations to E-ReStore are tax-deductible and you can find the predetermined fair market value for your items with the IRS Publication 561.
Please Note: We are only able to accept reusable materials. We may have to decline some materials at the time of pickup. Please do not be offended by our screening process. It is our primary goal to defray the construction costs of Habitat homes. If we take items from you that we cannot use or sell, we simply become a storage facility or it would require an additional trip to the local dump.
Items we want
- Cabinets: up-to-date and not damaged
- Plumbing: New unused fixtures, parts & supplies
- Electrical: New unused fixtures, parts & supplies
- Windows: New energy star rated insulated glass/double-pane glass, no broken glass, no sashes accepted
- Lumber: at least 6' in length
- Doors: New no broken glass
- Roofing: no scrap materials please!
- Tools: hand, garden, working power tools
- Flooring: New, wood, ceramic tile, vinyl
- Trim/millwork: wood casing & base, ceramic
- Miscellaneous: masonry, sheathing, siding, drywall supplies
Items not accepted
- Lead-based materials
- Used tub surrounds
- Toxic materials
- Blinds
- Wallpaper
- Furniture
- Hollow core doors without frame
- Used carpeting/pad
- Fireplaces
- Used ceiling tile
- Used siding
- Window parts
- Window sashes (no frame)
- Any broken items
